What AI we use today

Only one feature uses an external AI model: “Ask Neli”, in the Remember section, when you ask a question about your story. At that moment, and only then, Neli sends Claude (by Anthropic) the text of the memories related to your question: what you wrote, why it mattered, the date, the feeling you marked, the names of the people and the place. Your photos, audio, videos and email are never sent. Anthropic uses that data only to answer; under its commercial terms it doesn’t use it to train its models. The answer can only cite memories of yours that exist: if it mentions something that isn’t in your memories, Neli discards it. Everything else (suggested chapters, memories that come back, your emotional landscape) is calculated directly from your data, without sending it to any AI service. If you don’t want any memory to leave Neli, just don’t use “Ask Neli”.

This is guidance, not professional advice

What the AI suggests about your memories may be wrong, incomplete, or not fully reflect what you lived. It’s not therapy, psychological advice, or a diagnosis of any kind — it’s a tool to help you look at your own story. You decide what makes sense to you.

How we do it differently

Neli always asks you before imposing an interpretation on your memories — it never says “I detected a pattern” automatically without giving you the chance to confirm or correct it.

No automated decisions

No decision that affects you (billing, access to your account, closing your account) is made automatically by AI without human oversight.
